Socialcam - are you in yet?
There's a new number one app in the Apple app store, and it's called Socialcam. Socialcam is a free video sharing site that looks to be an "Instagram for video" of sorts. I wonder how long before YouTube starts to get a little nervous. To be honest, I have not yet checked this site out, so I don't know if it's a competitor or a compliment to YouTube. But, given its number one app status, the site is probably here to stay one way or another.

Samsung leads smartphone market
Here is an interesting article about Samsung and their leading market share of the smartphone industry. The company makes Android-based smartphones, but they still trail Apple in US market share. Clearly, though, the world is split between Android-based devices like Samsung's and Apple's iPhone.

Microsoft Kinect Start-ups
Microsoft has announced a program to help fund 11 start-up companies that are using Microsoft's Kinect motion sensing technology. The Kinest system was first introduced as part of Microsoft's XBOX gaming console, but it has quickly spread to many more mainstream areas of IT. Read all about these 11 start-ups here.

Amazon's Instant Video to PS3
Here's hugely satisfying news for any PS3 owner: Amazon's instant video service is now available on PS3. As a PS3 owner and Amazon Prime member, I'm absolutely tickled at this news, because the Prime membership just got even more useful, besides the 2-day shipping at Amazon.com.
